Welcome to A Line of Science. This site is the product of my combined love for science and writing. I obtained my PhD degree in Biomedicine which is a fascinating field that focuses on the biology of human health and disease. As you can imagine, it is a field with an enormous range of subject areas. Whereas I focused my PhD thesis on a specific hormone and its potential as a target for anti-obesity therapy, this project allows me to branch out and dive into other exciting areas of science.

My aim is to turn complex research articles into digestible, easy to understand texts and graphics for readers that would like to explore their inner nerd without neccesarily having to have a degree in science. Some of my favourite aspects of my PhD were the days that I spent on writing up my own research, as well as the days where I stood in front of a class of Medicine students and had to find the best way to deliver the science that was the subject of my classes to them. With that experience, I hope to be able to turn A Line of Science into a place that you can venture to whilst drinking your morning coffee to learn about the exciting research that is conducted at institutions around the globe.
